ON 2DAYS EPI OF: "I'd rather NOT whip my hair!"

"Don't skip steps, especially conditioning so that you don't hear this statement "Id rather gather & slather n tht young black gel, then make an attempt at healthy hair" -_-

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: "PRACTICE...

Take my advice..it's free:

"Practice makes perfect"
Practice usin a relaxer & not a perm..
know the difference!
ISOI!

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: "K?"..."K."

 Take my advice..it's free:

Use a comb,
brush,
setting lotion, &
a holding spray next time..
"K?"..."K".

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: "GOOD HAIR?"

What's good hair?
Training ur hair 2 do EXACTLY what u want it 2 do!
Whether ur hair is natural or relaxed u must"TRAIN" it 2 do what u want it 2 do. That's the secret! Thats "GOOD HAIR!"

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: CONDITIONING IS THE KEY

Take my advice..it's free:

"I just seen ur hair & um..here's a tip"

conditioning is the key
ITS THE SECRET
TIP: Let ur hair air dry/then flat iron &/or press it..see how ur hair takes to a thermal protection spray
TIP: Don't forget the detangler &/or setting lotion before you let it air dry & you apply it AFTER you condition

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: BROWN/BLACK GEL

Take my advice..it's free:

"I just seen ur hair & it gave me a coronary & um..here's a tip"
IDK Y u think brown/black gel is gettin it? its not..cut it out!
Im not a hairstylist...BUT
Imma bout 2 start walkin around with a hair party pack!
Its not that hard learn how 2 comb ur own hair!
Use a setting lotion, a cream &/or jojoba oil instead of grease & get in the habit of  wrapping your hair every night with a scarf.
This will "train" your hair to lay down and gel wont be needed.

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: WHAT DAY IS WASH DAY?

Take my advice..it's free:

YOU SHOULD PLAN ON WASHING YOUR HAIR EVERY 3, 4, 5, OR 7 DAYS (you will figure out what works best for you) but it is important to have a routine because the goal is to “train” your hair to do what you want it to do.

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: HARD PLASTIC ROLLERS

Take my advice its free:

Buy the hard hair rollers (biggest you can find, they may be gray in color for loose curls, or whatever size u choose) and learn to roll your hair (if you don't already know how), the less heat on ur hair, the healthier your hair and this also gives you the volume you want (espcially if ur hair is limp). (this would be for those who have thin hair & volume or just want healthy hair) you will also need to buy a sit under dryer.

TIP: Sometimes, ur hair is spongy in the first couple years, or that just may be the texture of your hair & thats ok, use SATIN SPONGE ROLLERS to roll your hair & the sit under the dryer.
TIP: Gently pick the curls apart with your fingers
TIP: if the style doesn't come out as u hoped it would, that's okay, work with the style to learn how to deal with ur hair.

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: STAYING ON TRACK

Take my advice its free:

-When you go to the salon, advise your stylist that you want a roller set, try this for @ least 3 months.
It will reinforce what you are already doing.
If you can stick to roller sets over heat, your hair will stay healthy.
-They can be the hard rollers (any size), a straw set (Yes! actual straws!, or those flexible straight rods.
TIP: MUST USE A FOAM SETTING LOTION FOR STRAW SETS.
Foam is usually best, but any setting lotion is fine.
Dilute the foam if buying the concentrated kind.
If it looks as if the foam changed the texture of your hair, discontinue use & change to a different brand or kind, or do not use it at all. Some  women prefer to not use it at all.

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: ROLL THAT HAIR INSTEAD!

Take my advice its free:

IF u decide to blow dry ur hair instead of sitting under the dryer or letting it air dry, use a roller brush or  comb attachment, so that u don’t have as much breakage

ON 2DAYS EPI OF: HEALTH BEFORE LENGTH

Take my advice its free:

-This is not just a process for “long” hair or for those wanting to grow their hair, but a formula to healthy hair, because when you focus on the “health” of your hair, it will grow to its "longest possible natural length". Your hair will never grow longer then your “natural length”,

I AM....MY HAIR

I believe "good hair" is healthy hair. I believe you can "train" your hair to do what you want it to do."Going Natural" only intensified the self love, self esteem, self worth, & self confidence that I already exude. Being a dark skinned African American woman & not having coarse hair is really hard for most people to deal with. Im over the "good hair", "bad hair", dark skinned, light skinned mess. I even deal with it in my own family.
I love my hair, I've at times been completely obsessed with it. Even to the point to where everything revolved around me doing my hair. But, through bad hair cuts, bad dye jobs, hairstylists cutting my hair off on purpose, I have calmed down some about my hair.
I have been through so many changes with my hair, correcting, fixing, adapting that I have learned that the humility & humiliation from these experiences intertwine with the rest of my life. My hair looks its best when I am taking care of it. Which means, I am at my best when I am taking care of me.
I realize I am my hair, it is apart of my very being, it resonates in my soul. Every strand of it shows my plight, my flight, my goals. Every move of it puts me closer to the place I want to be.We have made it through many storms & we have many more to go.I am my hair b/c even when damaged, the strength in my strands shine through.
I am my hair b/c I have an indomitable will to stand firm in my stance even when I am falling apart from the inside out.I am my hair b/c I love & believe in me indubitably. I would love for African American women to love the "hair they're in" & please...keep that black gel out your hair!
